Frequently asked questions
What is Lockhouse?
Lockhouse gives your team and agents a shared foundation for clear answers and better decisions. It connects your operating records, like sales, accounting, inventory, payroll, and schedules, with the work around them: meeting notes, call transcripts, email, messages, contracts, and documents.
On that foundation you can ask a question that spans several systems, see the records and notes that support the answer, and use the result in the tools you already work in. Lockhouse keeps the foundation working as your systems change: consistent definitions, connections that stay authorized, and access that follows what each person is allowed to see.
Who is it for?
Teams that keep running into a question that spans systems: an owner comparing stores, an operations lead checking commitments against schedules, a marketer tying campaigns to sales, a customer success manager preparing for a renewal. That includes single businesses and departments inside larger companies, operators running several locations or acquired businesses, and agencies or portfolio owners responsible for many businesses at once.
We also build for partners who deliver on the foundation for their clients: agencies, software companies, and AI-adoption firms.
Guided setup helps your team turn connected information into useful everyday workflows. If you need custom engineering, we’ll work with you to define the scope, resources, and support that fit your goals.
Do we have to replace our existing tools?
No. Lockhouse connects the systems you already use and can feed the destinations you choose, such as your warehouse, CRM, or marketing tools. If you don’t have a trusted shared foundation, Lockhouse can be that foundation. If you do, Lockhouse can keep it supplied.
What changes is the recurring work around those tools: exporting and reconciling, chasing a broken authorization, updating a report when a field is deprecated. Lockhouse takes on that maintenance so your team spends less time assembling information and more time using it. When you add a new tool or agent later, it starts from the same connected foundation instead of a fresh integration project.
Is this just a chat interface?
No. Ask, our chat interface, lets you ask questions about your business using information from your connected sources. The same foundation feeds reports, dashboards, your warehouse or BI tools, and the agents you choose to run. It is useful even if your team never adopts AI, because connected, consistently defined records are valuable on their own.
Underneath, Lockhouse normalizes equivalent records across systems (two versions of the same point-of-sale system become one sales schema), keeps both raw and transformed information, and links records to the related notes and conversations.
How current is the information, and how much history do we get?
Refresh schedules and available history vary by source. When you connect a source, we bring in the available historical records so you can explore trends and compare performance over time. We’ll help you choose the refresh and history options that fit your business.
Answers, sources, and control
Which systems can we connect?
Operating systems: point of sale, accounting, inventory, payroll and scheduling, advertising and marketing platforms, CRM and pipeline tools. Work content: email, chat messages, meeting notes and transcripts, documents, contracts, and reports.
When we add a connector, the priority is that you can query that source securely alongside everything else you’ve connected, not just land another table. Every connector we build is available to every customer, including ones built from customer requests. If your system isn’t covered yet, tell us and we’ll say what it would take.
How will we know where an answer came from?
Every answer in “Ask” shows what it used: which records it checked, which notes or messages it read, and what each can establish. A recorded sale, something a manager said in a meeting, an estimate, and an explanation are different kinds of evidence, and the answer keeps them distinct. A sales change after a promotion, for example, doesn’t by itself prove the promotion caused it.
When evidence is missing or conflicting, the answer says so instead of filling the gap. Meeting notes can show what you promised; checking whether it’s done needs a record of the work.
Who can see what?
Access has two dimensions: which businesses and locations a person can see, and which kinds of information they can use within them. A store manager sees their own store. A marketing manager sees marketing across all the stores without automatically seeing their full sales. Think of it as giving someone the keys to the door, not the keys to the safe.
If you manage several businesses, your account holds a subaccount for each, with locations beneath them. Parent-account users see their subaccounts by default; information-category limits still apply. Answers and the evidence behind them follow the same permissions, so a combined question doesn’t show someone records they couldn’t open directly.
How is our information secured?
Before you connect business information, we’ll review the security requirements for your evaluation, including access, hosting, data handling, and the commitments in your customer agreement. Contact us for details about the controls applicable to your setup.
Our Website Security Statement describes the public marketing website. Customer-platform safeguards are addressed separately.
Does Lockhouse staff have access to our data?
Only for implementation and support. Our team accesses your data to connect your sources, configure your business rules, troubleshoot a problem, or help you when you ask, and you know when that happens. That access is role-based and logged.
Will our information be used to train AI models?
We do not use customer data to train, fine-tune, or improve generalized or foundation AI models. We require the same restriction from our AI providers.
Using your information to answer a question is different from training a model on it. Our written data-use policies explain which providers process your information, why they process it, and how it is handled. We provide those policies before you sign.
Can agents take action in our systems?
Yes, only when you authorize it. You choose which connected tools your agents can use, what they’re allowed to do, and where a person’s approval is required. The level of access can differ by customer, agent, and workflow.
Agents work within those permissions and the capabilities of each connected system. Workflows you authorize to run automatically still respect any required approvals.
Getting started
What would implementation involve?
We work alongside your team to connect your information and make Lockhouse useful in your day-to-day work.
- Introduction. We meet to understand the questions you have about your business that your current systems can’t answer, and to see whether Lockhouse is a good fit.
- Setup. Our team connects your sources and configures any business rules with you.
- Handoff. We help your team confidently explore its business questions, verify answers, manage access, and handle routine changes independently.
- After that. Documentation and expert support stay available.
The owner on your side is usually a business-savvy operations or marketing person; coding isn’t a prerequisite. Larger custom engineering is scoped and staffed separately.
How much will it cost?
We build pricing packages around your business: the data sources you connect, the amount of data, the number of users and agents, and the support you need.
During an intro call, we’ll learn about your goals and recommend a package, with clear pricing for the platform and any implementation or custom work.
Can we try it with our own data?
Yes. A free trial lets you explore Lockhouse with your own data and the questions that matter to your business.
Book an intro call (opens in a new tab) with a member of our team. During the call, we’ll discuss what you want to learn and which data sources we can connect for your free trial.
What happens to our data if we leave?
You take it with you. Your data stays yours, and you can export it, raw and transformed, in standard formats. After your agreement ends, we delete your data on request.
Turn scattered information into answers your team can act on.
